Welcome to Brown Graham
In the summer of 1955 two brothers, Bob and Howard Brown, along with Wilmer Graham, and Art Glover formed a partnership and started their own public accounting firm. It all started when Howard Brown was on a fly fishing trip, in Lake City, Colorado, when his brother Bob called and said “I´ve purchased a CPA practice in Hereford, Texas!” Brown, Graham & Company, P.C. was born and the story lives on.
Shortly thereafter the partners opened an office in a beautiful, three story, historical home at 1608 S. Polk in Amarillo. During the mid 50s and 60s the firm experienced tremendous growth serving the farming, grain products, cotton and cotton processing, and cattle and ranching industries along with oil, gas, and allied petroleum service companies. Offices in Tulia, Friona, Spearman then Canyon, Dimmitt, Pampa, Perryton, and Shamrock were opened in an effort to better serve clients. Brown Graham has continued to expand opening in offices in Austin and Prosper, Texas
Relationships based on respect and trust between the founders and their clients set the standard for the core values of Brown Graham. Dedication to the passionate pursuit of uncommon service to their clients and their communities, professionalism, demonstrating exemplary character, and respecting their employees´ personal lives by encouraging a balance between work and life are still the foundation of the day-to-day operations.
Unlike other public accounting firms who will eventually sell their practice when things get tough or simply close their doors at retirement, the shareholders of Brown, Graham & Company have developed long-range strategic goals to assure their clients, employees and the community they will be around for decades, continuing to provide outstanding professional service, employment and growth to our communities.
Today, Brown Graham continues to seek to uphold the standard set by the Firm’s founding members and the long lineage of shareholders and employees that have followed, with offices currently located in Amarillo, Austin, Pampa, Prosper and Spearman.
